Summary:
Allow users to assign devices to specific bins/boxes within the Inventory section of Reusely for better organization, faster reconciliation, and more efficient inventory counts.
When processing large volumes of devices through the buyback workflow, they often end up in physical bins or boxes while awaiting the next stage of processing. Currently, there is no way in Reusely to digitally map these devices to their physical bin locations. This leads to:
Inefficient Reconciliation: The current Device Reconcile feature requires scanning the entire inventory log, which can be time-consuming when dealing with thousands of devices.
Slower Retrieval: Locating a specific device for processing or review can require manual searching or physically sifting through multiple bins.
Operational Bottlenecks: Teams are unable to perform smaller, focused inventory counts — slowing down quality control and audit processes.
Introduce a “Bin Assignment” feature with the following functionality:
Bin Creation & Naming: Ability to create and name bins (e.g., “Bin A1”, “Shelf 3 - Box 2”).
Device Assignment: Ability to assign one or multiple devices to a bin when they enter inventory or at any point later.
Filtering & Search: Ability to filter/search inventory by bin name for faster retrieval.
Bin-Level Reconciliation: Modify the Device Reconcile feature to work at a bin level, allowing partial inventory counts (per bin) instead of forcing full-inventory scans.
Optional Enhancements:
Bin capacity tracking (optional, for space management).
Ability to export or print bin-level inventory lists for physical audits.
Faster Identification: Quickly locate where a device is physically stored.
Incremental Inventory Counts: Perform smaller, more manageable reconciliations by bin, rather than scanning the entire inventory log.
Operational Efficiency: Reduce labor time and friction in managing high-volume buyback operations.
Improved Accuracy: Lower risk of errors when counting or moving devices since the scope is narrowed to a single bin.
Better Scalability: Supports large warehouse operations with hundreds of bins.
