I ran into a confusing moment in Mail-In when looking up shipments by barcode/tracking number. I typed a barcode in the Scan barcode/tracking # field on the All tab, then clicked over to Leads. The table went blank with “0 rows,” but there was no filter field on that tab—so I couldn’t see (or clear) what was filtering my results. When I went back to In-Transit, my old barcode was still in the field and the list was still filtered.
Why this is frustrating (from a user’s POV):
If a filter is active, I need to see it and control it—on every tab. Hidden filters make it feel like the data disappeared or something broke.
Simple example:
Enter 9400 1234 5678 9012 in Scan barcode/tracking # on All.
Switch to Leads → table shows 0 rows, with no visible way to clear the filter.
Switch back to In-Transit → the same barcode is still applied, results still filtered.
What I’m asking for:
Please ensure filters never apply “invisibly.” I’d be happy with either approach:
Option A: Show the Scan barcode/tracking # input (or an Active filter chip/pill with a clear “×”) on every tab so I can always see and clear it.
Option B: Remove the dedicated barcode field and let Search Everything handle barcode/tracking queries consistently across tabs (with a visible active-filter indicator and one-click “Clear”).
Success looks like:
I can switch tabs without ending up with hidden filters.
Any active filter is clearly visible and can be cleared in one click.
Searching by barcode/tracking # works the same way on every tab.
