Adjustments to Amazon Gift Card

Hi team,
I’m looking for some input on this. When a customer selects Amazon Gift Card as a payout, they’re required to enter both an email address and a phone number, even though this information may have already been collected earlier in the checkout flow.
My question is: are there specific reasons we require both an email and a phone number for Amazon gift cards?
This currently feels like unnecessary friction. It seems that reusing the previously collected email and phone number—or providing a checkbox to use the same contact details—might be a smoother approach. That said, I’d like to better understand the rationale behind the current implementation.
